Most “free family resources” are a sales funnel.

You vet everything that goes home, and your name is on it. After enough “free at school” apps turned into upsells aimed at kids, wary is the right default.

What it is

KudoKids is safe screen time for kids 3–12 that instills growth.

Live in early access now on the web, iOS, and Android — a growing library of games and routines that turn the screen time kids already get into time that grows them.

Free for every family — routines, the full library of games, and a first companion are included. Premium ($11.99/mo or $99/yr) adds the other themed worlds, companions, backgrounds, and companion looks and extras kids earn through their routines — never a wall in front of the learning.

How it works

Effort in, rewards out — and you decide what they're worth.

1

Set the routine

You pick the tasks and responsibilities that matter this week.

2

Kids earn Kudo Coins

Finishing tasks earns coins — visible progress, not nagging.

3

You choose the reward

Coins buy rewards you set — including off-app screen time.

Earned, not handed over

The Kudo Coin — kids earn it, you decide what it's worth. Everyday effort becomes rewards a parent actually approves of.

The cast

Twenty companions, each one cheering your kid on.

These are the faces of KudoKids. Every companion has its own personality — and thousands of sayings that guide, encourage, and celebrate your child as they grow.

Every family starts free with the Space world and Cosmo — Premium unlocks the other themed worlds, companions, backgrounds, and companion looks and extras kids earn through their routines. That's a parent-side decision: the upgrade is never pitched inside your child's game.

Your newsletter

Share it like a library flyer, not a fundraiser

Families sign up directly at kudokids.org — no student data, no procurement, nothing for the school to sign, and nothing for next year's board to hand off.

After the parent night

The “now what” for screen-time talks

When a screen-time night or newsletter tip leaves families asking what to do next, this is a concrete step to point them to — and the parent dashboard lets every family see what their kids are up to.

Why this matters

Three kids you already know.

When the effort is the point

A seven-year-old told to make their bed learns one thing. One who makes it and then watches something they actually wanted arrive learns that their own effort moves the world.

White et al. 2019, J Dev Behav Pediatr: in 9,971 children, early-elementary chores were associated with later self-competence and self-efficacy. Correlational.

A word for the hard day

Some kids come home carrying a feeling they can't name yet. Naming it is a skill, and a child either gets practice at it or doesn't.

Izard et al. 2001, Psychological Science: in 72 children, emotion knowledge at 5 predicted social and academic competence at 9. No app was studied.

Where the growing actually happens

School gets a child for six hours. The rest of the day is the part nobody has a program for — and it's where most of the growing up happens.

Jeynes 2005, Urban Education: across 41 studies of urban elementary students, parent involvement was associated with academic achievement. Correlational; no app was studied.

Honest answers

The first two questions PTA/PTO leaders & room parents ask.

Q

Our bylaws say we can't endorse products — can we still share this?

Yes, because we don't ask you to endorse anything. Share it the way you'd share library story time: as information about a free family resource. No PTA name on anything, no endorsement needed, and nothing anyone has to buy to use it.

Q

Is there anything to buy, install, or set up for families?

No procurement, no contracts, no student data. Families sign up directly and the core app is free to use — a free account at kudokids.org works on the web, iOS, and Android. And said up front, because you'll check: Premium ($11.99/mo or $99/yr) exists. It adds the other themed worlds, companions, backgrounds, and companion looks and extras, the free plan isn't a teaser, and the upgrade conversation happens with parents — never with kids.

Forward this

Three sentences you can paste into the newsletter.

A free resource for families: KudoKids is an app for kids 3–12 where kids earn Kudo Coins for routines and tasks — and parents decide what the coins are worth, including screen time.

The free plan includes the full app — routines, the full library of games, and a first companion. There's nothing you have to purchase.

Details at kudokids.org.

Written to share as information, not an endorsement — swap in the wording that fits your newsletter, packet, or parent Facebook group. Worth knowing before you forward it: a paid tier exists, and it only adds the other themed worlds, companions, backgrounds, and companion looks and extras.
