The call comes at 9 p.m., and the family starts from zero.

A child arrives with belongings in a trash bag, and a tired family builds structure from scratch — no paperwork, no budget, no answers for days. You fill that gap, and too many of your families still stop in year one.

How it works

Visible routines and small wins — earned, private, and in the caregiver's hands.

1

Set the routine

You pick the tasks and responsibilities that matter this week.

2

Kids earn Kudo Coins

Finishing tasks earns coins — visible progress, not nagging.

3

You choose the reward

Coins buy rewards you set — including off-app screen time.

Earned, not given

The Kudo Coin — kids earn it, you decide what it's worth. Everyday effort becomes rewards a parent actually approves of.

Foster, kinship & adoptive families in focus

How it lands in the homes you serve.

A new placement — or a second round of parenting

Ready the night a child arrives

A caregiver can set up a visible morning and bedtime routine in minutes, on whatever device the family already has — and mood check-ins and sleep sounds meet the real first-week struggles: sleep and big feelings. The same holds for a grandparent raising a grandchild or an adoptive family settling in: it's free, there's no new device to buy, and setup doesn't take a tech afternoon.

What you can see

See what they're up to

The parent dashboard shows what kids are earning, playing, and learning — with a CSV export you can hand to a clinician.

Honest answers

The first three questions foster, kinship & adoptive orgs ask.

Q

We teach "connection before correction." Isn't a reward app just behaviorism in a costume?

KudoKids doesn't claim to treat trauma and isn't a behavior-modification program. It's a structure tool that stays entirely in the caregiver's hands — visible routines, earned Kudo Coins, rewards the family defines, all private to the household. It layers under whatever framework your trainers teach; your trainer decides how and whether it fits a given family.

Q

Are you selling to our families — and who profits?

No. Community partners have no financial relationship with KudoKids — no commissions, no referral fees — and we never market to families inside your groups. KudoKids is founder-funded, without venture capital, and that funding is committed to keeping the core app free for every family. A human answers vetting questions at support@kudokids.org.

Q

Is there anything to buy, install, or set up for families?

No procurement, no contracts, no student data. Families sign up directly and the core app is free to use.

It's useful when you're building structure with a new placement, and it includes mood check-ins and sleep sounds.

The core app is free to use — Premium only adds the other themed worlds, companions, backgrounds, and companion looks and extras — and our organization has no financial relationship with them: families sign up directly at kudokids.org.
